frequently Asked Questions

What are Peepods made of?

Peepods are made with soft flannel next to your skin, organic hemp fleece and then a moisture barrier of PUL fabric.  Each pad is then sewn to a cotton wing.

What is the difference between Peepods sizes?

Peepods are all made with the same high quality materials.  The difference is the size and the number of layers of organic hemp fleece.  Our panty liner has only one layer of fleece and measures approx.  3 ” wide x 8 1/4” long.  Our Incontinence Pad and Day Pad have two layers of fleece and measures approx. 3 1/2” wide x 9” long.  Our Night Pad has three layers of fleece near the center of the pad and measures approx. 4 1/2” wide X 10 ¾” long. Nursing Pads measure 4 1/4" in diameter.

I think I have mild incontinence, will these pads work for me?

Peepods are designed for use with mild incontinence.  According to a study done by St. George Hospital in New South Wales, Australia, mild incontinence is considered 1.3 grams to 20 grams of urine leaking over a 24-hour period.  In easier terms, that is about ¼ teaspoon to 4 teaspoons of liquid in a 24 hour time period.  Just one of our Peepods is designed to hold nearly 7 teaspoons, however Peepods should be changed often to support good hygiene and healthy skin.

I want to use Peepods for period pads.  How many should I buy for a typical cycle?

Period Peepods are designed for use during your period or during postpartum.  Our Deluxe Period Pad Set has 7 pads – 2 night pads, 2 day pads and 3 panty liners.  This is a great starter set for a typical cycle if you plan to wash your pads two to three times during a cycle.  Many customers find that purchasing an additional Set of Three Day Pads for average flow or an additional Night Pad for heavy flow works really well.

How often do I need to change these pads?

Washable pads need to be changed often.  The actual amount of time you should wear one pad before changing will depend on the amount of urine leakage, how heavy your monthly cycle is or your activity level.  Remember, there is no waste with these products, simply wash and reuse- so change often for good hygiene and skin health.

How easy are these pads to care for?

Peepods are very easy to care for.  Simply soak & rinse in cold water until you are ready to launder them.   Pads can be washed with like colors using your choice of laundry detergent.  Lay flat to dry or just toss in the dryer on medium heat.  A net, zippered laundry bag may be used when washing peepods with other article of clothing, helping to keep peepods separated and protected.
